FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use SquirrelGard on top of rubber PVC boot covers?

SquirrelGard is only recommended for protecting lead plumbing jack flashings.

How do I know what size(s) I need to order?

If your lead jacks have been chewed down to expose the PVC pipe, it may be difficult to tell what size(s) you need. If you can safely climb on your roof to measure your plumbing jacks, (remember to practice roof and ladder safety measures!) use a flexible tape measure (like for measuring clothing) to measure the exterior circumference of the remaining lead jack flashing. Use the SquirrelGard chart to find what size you should order to protect that lead jack flashing based on the circumference measured.

Custom sizes and materials available upon request.

Why is Squirrelgard a better choice?

SquirrelGard is not made of plastic, neoprene or rubber, so it won’t degrade in UV sunlight, like other products. It won’t crack or split in harsh weather. Forget the plastic imitations that require screwing into your lead jack, creating more opportunities for water to penetrate. Squirrelgard is durable and your most cost effective solution.
